Only v4 unlock code generated from nvram, not from imei.
It also depends on firmware. Newer one can't be unlocked so easily.
For start you can check for unlocking by universal AT command:
AT ^ NVWREX = 8268,0,12,1,0,0,0,2,0,0,0, A, 0,0,0
For instance in dc-unlocker program or any other terminal that will connect to modems serial port.
