It wasn't v201. You tried v1 code. It's only valid for very old models.

Also I have with me a Huawei modem E5577Cs-321 locked to VIVA Kuwait to unlock, it's v4 algorithm, so obviously it can't be unlocked just by the unlock code.

So have to update the firmware to version 21.180.99.03.00 it asks for DATALOCK CODE
When I enter the flash code, it says wrong password, so without flashing I cannot get the datalock code.

So unlocking via boot shot is only option left?

Also I tried to update the firmware via AT^GODLOAD command from dc-unlocker
Still it gives error

What firmware do you have on this e5577 ?
Latest firmwares ( >21.315.* ) don't ask for flash code anymore.
Datalock code is an OEM Code, generated from nvram, like unlock (NCK) code.
You can try in dc-unlocker command:
AT^SFM=1
if the answer will be OK then you can do Reseting OEM Code to all zeros:
AT ^ SETHWLOCK = "OEM", 00000000
or
AT^RESET
Modem will reboot and firmware downgrade/upgrade should be now available.
You can install modded firmware and webui. I have few of them at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/ll9ieqq.../Documents
After succeeded installations of both files go to dc-unlocker once again and give commands:
AT^SFM=0
AT^RESET

For unlocking you can try universal command:
AT ^ NVWREX = 8268,0,12,1,0,0,0,2,0,0,0, A, 0,0,0

Or commands for nvram,
OEM code:
AT^NVRDEX=50502,0,128

NCK Code:
AT^NVRDEX=50503,0,128

On this firmware should work method with AT^SFM=1 and dismantle isn't needed.
When in this mode you can use v4 calc http://www.mediafire.com/file/yg48xr3ukq...pdated.zip that will give you OEM and NCK codes.
and no firmware change needed.
